RESEARCH WORKFLOW
How sources are prioritized, verified, reviewed, classified, corrected, and bounded when restoration evidence is sparse.
REPEATABLE, NOT OVERSTATED
This workflow is an editorial source-review process. It is not medical peer review and is not described as a systematic review.
SOURCE PRIORITY
Use the paper itself for findings, methods, limitations, and population whenever accessible.
Verify DOI, journal, year, authorship, corrections, and retractions through the publisher, Crossref, PubMed, or another authoritative index.
Use reviews to map a field while checking important claims against the underlying studies.
Use them for attributed terminology, history, or practice—not medical effectiveness.
SOURCE-REVIEW STATUS
The complete available paper was reviewed. This does not imply independent replication or medical peer review by this site.
The abstract and verified metadata were reviewed; claims remain within what that material supports.
Bibliographic identity was confirmed, but findings are not expanded beyond verified metadata.
The item modifies, critiques, or comments on another source and is linked accordingly.
The record is awaiting sufficient verification or review before supporting public claims.
ASSIGNING LABELS
Reviewers identify the population or material, exposure or intervention, comparison, outcomes, study type, major limitations, and relationship to restoration. Evidence-quality and Evidence Directness labels are then assigned independently. A mechanistic paper is never promoted to direct intervention evidence because its mechanism is persuasive.
For restoration-specific claims, sparse evidence leads to narrower wording: “limited evidence indicates,” “some respondents reported,” “biologically plausible,” or “not established,” depending on what was actually studied.
CORRECTIONS & RETRACTIONS
DOIs are checked for related corrections, commentary, and retraction notices. A correction is linked in the source record and its significance described without assuming it either invalidates or vindicates every conclusion. Review dates are updated only when a source or claim is actually revisited.
SOURCE REGISTER
Quality describes the kind and strength of support. Directness separately shows how closely the source addresses restoration. Neither label turns adjacent biology into proof of a restoration outcome.
